Elm House

“We found and purchased a house in a lovely position but realised the building itself did not work for us as it was. We knew the kind of place we wanted to live in but needed help to realise it.

Lou took a very detailed brief and produced optional proposals for us to consider. She helped us to find a fabulous architect, as it became clear the project would require specialist planning input and some new build elements. What Lou produced exceeded our expectations and very cleverly used the existing space; we only required a compact extension to give us all the accommodation we needed. She took on board all our needs and we now have a house we love to live in. She was with us every step of the way, absolutely wonderful.”

“The Transitions team will be working on site for over a year and we needed an office that was good to work in and also very distinct from the prison environment. It needed to speak of the project’s core mission: to create new spaces and approaches to working with offenders, while increasing their chances of rehabilitation. All on a small budget and done in a way that meant we could involve prisoners and officers in the process. We are delighted with the results, which required a great deal of flexibility and foresight about working in a particular environment. For example, our tables were made in the prison workshop and designed with the restrictions that this bought to bear. They have become a source of pride for prisoners and a talking point for those visiting the office.”

“The building we found was in a good location with great potential. Lou worked with us to re-model the building into an office space which would reflect our ethos and complement our brand identity. We wanted to use locally sourced, eco friendly materials wherever possible. We needed to maximise the limited natural light available on the ground floor and make sensible use of the two storey building. Our budget required careful management and some focus to create an impressive entry to the building. Lou helped us to achieve all these objectives by producing an inspiring design concept and space plan, followed by drawings to submit for planning, help with specifications and finally working drawings for construction. We are delighted with the results.”

“We employed an architect to work on our barn conversion, but wanted some extra help with the interiors to optimise the space and give a fresh and contemporary feel, without spending a fortune. Lou helped us to achieve this. We are delighted with the results and think that her input really gave us an edge in a very competitive holiday market. Our guests love it. We would not hesitate in recommending Christie Studio.”
