About the project
Lou produced drawings and design specifications for new offices to be used by Transitions, a major new resettlement project led by the RSA and linked to a public sector prison in East Yorkshire. The office is based in an old gardeners cottage and the refit needed to take into account a complex set of considerations, including creating a positive environment on a restricted budget and enabling some of the work to be completed by prisoners. The Transitions office needed to embody the aims of the project, which includes the complete refurbishment of the adjacent Everthorpe Hall, farm and lands, bringing them back into use as a space providing prisoners and ex-offenders with opportunities to work, develop skills and resettle
